Thanks to the advancement in technology, printers nowadays are usually equipped with self-assessment tools that tell us what the real problem is, so we don't have to guess or perform trial and error. Simply follow the steps below and we'll guide you through the rest of the troubleshooting process.
STEP 1: Go to the Printer and Faxes and open it.

STEP 2: Right click your printer model and choose Printing Preferences.

STEP 3: Under maintenance tab, click on the Status Monitor (for Epson printers) or View Printer Status (for Canon printers).

Does the monitor identify any of the errors below? Click on the particular printer error to know the next step in solving the problem.
- Cartridge Not Recognized
- General Error
- Some Parts Of Your Printer Are At The End Of Their Service Life
- Printer is offline or Printer not ready to print
- Cartridge has run out of ink
- Paper out or not loaded correctly
If your status monitor indicates that the printer is online and ready to print, please check if your printer's problem falls in any of the following:
- Problem with print quality (e.g. printout has white lines, wrong color output, etc.)
- Leakage in the Ink System
